The Crab With No Shell

The Crab With No Shell
by Amelie and Camille (age 7)

Once upon a time there was a crab. A crab with no shell. One day he met a turtle. He was very hungry. The turtle was nice to him and gave him some lunch. He stayed there for nine days and then went looking for a shell.

The first one he found was purple and too big. The shell he put on next was too small. Then a seahorse said, "I saw lots of shells at the gift shop."

"Great! I can get a map to help me!"

Next he was at the gift shop. He tried five shells. The first shell was too light. The next shell was too heavy. The next shell was too red. The next shell had too much cakes on it. The last shell was too fishy.

"I'll never find the right shell to have!"

Home he went to his seaweed house. His mother was so sad he did not have a shell. Then she went upstairs and she got cake for him to try.

"I will like a shell instead. No cake."

Then he saw something colorful outside. He ran five days to reach it. He would sleep in the darkness. Then he ran some more and found a perfect shell from his dad.

"I love dad!" he said.

THE END
